Simplicity

In a world in which we are always rushed, each day passing quicker than the next, I look to simplify my life in order to provide a sense of peace and tranquility. I have always been drawn to quiet, serene colors and surroundings… soothing blues, cool greens and breezy tans take me back to my childhood where I spent numerous hours on the beach. In my adulthood, these colors continue to calm me but also stimulate my creativity. My jewelry designs exhibit a love of nature and the serenity of the multitude of color emanating from the ocean. Today I find myself twirling a cool aqua chalcedony gemstone between my fingers on my favorite gold chain. It reminds me of a dear friend who gets lost in thought as she plays with a bowl full of assorted gemstones, letting them run through her fingers over and over. Drawn to that bowl like a moth to a flame, I asked her why she plays with the stones. She replied,” Every stone I touch grounds and calms me”.  My designs follow my love for simplicity and timelessness. As I start to create a new piece, I close my eyes and envision a simple glowing gemstone on a gold or silver strand, shimmering like the sunlight on the ocean. It gives me peace. I hope you find the same serenity in your life when wearing your favorite piece of my jewelry.
